The Animal Hospital of Orleans is seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician with management experience for the position of Head Veterinary Technician for our independently owned veterinary hospital. We are the only Fear Free Certified Practice on Cape Cod and our mission is to make coming to the vet a happy and stress-free experience for our patients and clients.  

Our technicians are critical to our success and are utilized to their fullest abilities, maximizing their skill sets through continual training and development. As a team member, you would be responsible for client education, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, digital and dental radiographs, monitoring anesthesia, and training/overseeing veterinary assistants. Management duties will include designing, implementing and monitoring staff training programs and mediating staff conflicts and communication challenges. Specialty training in abdominal and/or cardiac ultrasound, class IV companion laser is possible. You are a Certified Veterinary Technician with at least 2 years of veterinary experience 

Managerial experience required (not required to be in veterinary medicine) 

You are a motivated self-starter with an attention to detail 

You have a positive attitude 

You have the ability to lift 50lbs 

You have excellent communication skills and are interested in and willing to expand your EQ (Emotional Intelligence) 

You have a strong work ethic and are a self-starter 

You have the ability to handle client communication in a professional and caring manner
