Radiology Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a full-time certified veterinary nurse to join our Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Services.

About the Position:

·         Proficient with digital radiographs (PACS)

·         Proficient with patient restraint

·         Maintain all radiology equipment

·         Assist radiologists with all procedures: ultrasounds, CT, fluoroscopy, FNA, biopsies

·         Aseptically prep patients for procedures

·         Setup, run, and breakdown CT and fluoroscopy

·         Proficient with IVC placement and running in-house and external blood work

·         Comfortable with administering and monitoring patients under sedation

·         Assist anesthetists with patients during CT and fluoroscopy

·         Proficient at positioning and taking patient radiographs

·         Assist with setup of patient monitoring equipment and warming devices

·         Maintain radiology inventory control

·         Provides general husbandry for radiology and imaging services

Shift: Fulltime (40 hour) benefit position within the radiology services including one major and one minor holiday coverage a year. Schedule Monday to Friday with some weekend coverage.

Personal Requirements:

·         Minimum of 18 years old

·         Minimum 3 years working as a veterinary technician

·         Minimum 2 years’ experience in a specialty hospital preferred

·         Graduate from an accredited AVMA program preferred

·         CVT, LVT, RVT, and/or VTS preferred

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment and is detail oriented

·         Has a high commitment to providing exceptional patient care

·         Excellent client and interpersonal communication skills

·         Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

·         Must be well-spoken, professional, approachable, and maintain a positive outlook
