The Foster Hospital for Small Animals provides
high-quality veterinary medical/surgical care to inpatient, outpatient, and
critical/emergent small animal cases and superior customer service to our
clients. In addition, the hospital provides a positive learning experience for
Tufts veterinary students encompassing all specialties at the Foster Hospital
for Small Animals.
We are seeking a Technician Resources Manager to
oversee the overall daily management and direction of the clinic floor
activities related to inpatient services (Anesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging,
Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Wards, Animal Care). The individual will
work collaboratively with the Assoc. Medical Director-Operations, Client
Services Manager, Front Desk Supervisors, Pharmacist and Accounting Supervisor
to ensure effective operations of the hospital. This position provides an
excellent opportunity to enhance supervisory and managerial skills while

exceptional communication skills and an ability to respond nimbly to unexpected
changes in workflow.

This position has a leadership role with
responsibility for recruitment, interviewing new candidates and retention of
veterinary technicians in the Foster Hospital for Small Animals. Other
responsibilities include implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines to
maintain compliance with regulations, and carrying primary responsibility for
patient care issues. This position will be responsible for all inpatient
service staffing decisions, training, cross training, scheduling, reviewing
performance and resolving personnel and scheduling issues that may arise.
The Technician Resources Manager works closely
with direct reports to ensure there is open communication and accountability
and will manage the performance of staff in concert with direct reports.
Operational oversight is critical to continuously improve the hospital's
patient care and customer service.
This position reports directly to the Hospital
Director with a broken-line reporting relationship for financial and
administrative responsibilities to the Hospital Administrator.
Basic Requirements:
- Education - BA/BS with 7+ years of related experience in a veterinary practice environment.
- Candidate should have 3+ years of managerial supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience; excellent computer skills; outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communications and time-management skills; ability to exercise discretion and interact effectively with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds; maintain professional positive outlook, handle multiple projects simultaneously; ability to work with frequent interruptions and to multi-task; exceptional attention to detail.
- If candidate is a Veterinary Technician, CVT is preferred.
- Enjoy working with people and solving problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of veterinary patient care software (EMR - electronic medical record) systems.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
The Hospital's hours are 24 hours per day, 365
days per year. The position may require occasional evening and weekend hours.
