Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technicians
Our veterinary technician works as part of an integrated clinical care team to provide high quality nursing care to inpatient, outpatient, critically ill and emergent patients. We are currently looking to fill full time positions in on our overnight team. Our overnight technicians work 7pm – 7am, 3 night a week, including partial weekend and holiday coverage. Tufts VETS provides a generous overnight differential.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program, a CVT or CVT eligible with experience in an emergency setting. Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with veterinary pharmacology. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities for several patients within a busy clinical setting. Technical abilities such as patient restraint, venipuncture, fluid administration, medication administration, monitoring and treating patients. Ability to effectively work as a member of a diverse team of clinical and administrative professionals. Basic computer skills including the ability to learn the electronic medical record system. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation. This position is considered essential and is therefore required to report to work as scheduled during emergency closings.
Must be a team player with excellent technical and communication skills.
Signing bonus of $1,000 to be paid out after the successful completion of 6 months employment with Tufts VETS.

Supervisory positions for veterinary technicians
Tufts VETS is looking for veterinary technician candidates with supervisory experience to join our team of professionals. We have opportunities for a technician supervisor in our emergency and critical care department as well as a specialty technician supervisor.
These positions are for a candidate that is energetic, hardworking, dedicated to high level patient care. This position requires an active role in continuing education and training of the emergency department technicians. Candidate must be able to recognize the needs of the department including technician scheduling, staffing levels, and communication with our specialty departments. This position requires working side by side with your team, treating patients, encouraging CE participation, training and designing and updating sops.
Current disciplines represented at Tufts Vets include: veterinary emergency & critical care, cardiology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, dermatology, surgery, anesthesiology, oncology and radiology (including advanced imaging and ultrasonography).

Qualified candidate must be a certified veterinary technician with at least 7 years’ experience in an emergency critical care setting. Supervisory or lead responsibilities for at least 5 of those years. Ideal candidate: VTS or VTS eligible.
